Meet the Circulars – your personal guide through the exhibition
What if a mediation system wasn’t just a tool, but a companion that visitors truly connect with?
Museums today face an engagement gap. Visitors don’t just want information—they want meaningful connections. Yet traditional audio guides often feel mechanical, detached, and fail to spark lasting emotional engagement. Short dwell times, limited social media sharing, and low visitor advocacy are all signs that the old approach isn’t enough.
Our answer: the Circulars
At the Expo 2025 German Pavilion, over 3 million visitors discovered the magic of these innovative companions. More than just guides, the Circulars combine character-driven design with cutting-edge technology, creating a personal, interactive experience that moves with visitors throughout the exhibition.
Inspired by Japanese Kawaii aesthetics, these charming character companions quickly became the most beloved mascots of the entire World Expo, delighting audiences and transforming the way people connect with content.
Visitors explore, discover, and connect naturally, enjoying a guide that feels alive, intuitive, and unobtrusive.
says Dietmar Jähn, Managing Partner at facts and fiction.
And the best part about the Circulars?
The technology is bulletproof.
Using proven infrared and RFID technology, they deliver smooth, reliable, and low-maintenance visitor guidance. Tested extensively and officially approved as a Japanese toy, every component—from battery to color coating—is designed for safety, durability, and long-term performance.
Child-safe, impact-resistant, and water-repellent, the Circulars combine playfulness, innovation, and robustness—a companion that delights visitors while standing the test of time.
Fun fact:
During the Expo, all 3,000 Circulars stayed fully operational - 6 months straight, 7 days a week, with 0 downtime.
The cover can take any form
No two museums share the same narrative – so no two should be identical.
The cover of it can be customized according to your needs and wishes.
For the German Pavilion, we created rounded companions that embody the circular economy—creatures living in perfect cycles, sharing their world with visitors. But the design doesn’t stop at the simple white, rounded form; it can evolve into a wide spectrum of shapes, colors, and personalities e.g.:
Schlau und Zugänglich
für Familienpublikum und Wissenschaftsmuseen
Elegant und Stilvoll
für Kunstmuseen und kulturelle Einrichtungen
Kulturspezifisch
auf die Ästhetik und Werte einer Region abgestimmt
Verspielt und Lebhaftfür
Kindermuseen und interaktive Räume
Wissensbetont und Philosophisch
für historische Museen und Kulturerbestätten
