
The European Union is committed to a better future through sustainability, connectivity, inclusivity and security. At Expo 2025 Osaka, the EU pavilion is therefore presenting initiatives under the motto “Nurturing Tomorrow” that bring this aspiration to life.
The EU and Japan share a strong partnership. They work together to promote peace and democracy and solutions to global challenges such as climate change, digital transformation and food security. The Pavilion will highlight these collaborations, emphasising the deep political, economic, and cultural ties between the EU and Japan.

Pavilions and world exhibitions
In terms of design, the pavilion's exhibition is committed to the New European Bauhaus and combines sustainability, innovation and aesthetics. It is a place of discovery, dialog and interaction.


A Zen robot gives guests a moment of peace in the midst of the Expo hustle and bustle. The robot contemplatively draws intricate patterns in the sand, but interrupts its activity to greet approaching guests in one of the 24 official EU languages.

The “talking plants” are just as fascinating: If you touch them, their digital shadows grow and provide exciting insights into European initiatives on sustainable agriculture, food safety and environmental partnerships.

Inspired by Japanese origami art, visitors can also fold a digital dove and then let it fly as a symbol of hope and cooperation.

Inspired by Japanese ema plaques and the precision of origami, the facade features rotating, petal-like modules made from sustainable bamboo. These elements move naturally with the wind, mirroring the graceful movement of the sakura blossoms and bringing the pavilion's theme, “Nurturing Tomorrow”, to life.
