On the 19th and 20th of March 2021, the St. Elisabeth Church was one of the central nodes in the "Artificial Intelligence" thematic network. Under the motto: "Algorithms, Automation and Work - How AI can make our work and our lives better", the BMAS and the Denkfabrik Digitale Arbeitsgesellschaft (Digital Labour Society Think Tank), together with various national and international experts from research institutes, trade unions, AI application-oriented companies, the OECD and the administration, discussed the question: "How can artificial intelligence be developed and used in such a way that people take centre stage?" 

In his opening speech, Federal Minister Hubertus Heil once again made it clear that AI is "by far the most important of all technical novelties and innovations [...]" and that it holds "a future promise for a better, healthier and simpler life in everyday life and at work". The framework of the two-day conference implemented different formats of impulses, speeches, panel discussions, workshops and virtual standing tables in the digital space. The programme was modular and designed to allow guests to create their own individual and interest-driven conference experience. 

Within the programme, Q&A and interaction tools provided the opportunity for the audience to contribute to the discussion with their own questions and comments. Outside the sessions, wonder.me provided a virtual environment where guests could network with experts from the panels as well as with each other. The St. Elisabeth Church and the temporary Studio served as the central conference HUB, control centre and stage for the various formats and applications. facts and fiction was entrusted with the organisation and implementation of the event on site and in the digital realm.
