On the way to becoming a sustainable agency
facts and fiction has been EMAS certified since 2023: www.emas.de. This gives us a detailed insight into our resource consumption - and allows us to work specifically on minimizing it.
We have already implemented many measures with regard to our travel:
All domestic German journeys are made by train. The same applies to trips to nearby European countries. In addition, facts and fiction has not had any company cars since 2018 - instead, there are plenty of company bicycles.
Nevertheless, travel remains a large block of emissions - you can't get to Japan by train, and rail travel also generates emissions. In 2023, we traveled a total of 194,045 km and emitted around 22.5 t of CO2, in 2024 it was 343,969 km and 85.2 t of CO2.
Starting in 2023, we will therefore offset our CO2 emissions caused by travel in cooperation with NABU. We are basing this on the BMWE's CO2 price and donating €30 (2023) or €45 (2024) per tonne of CO2 for the preservation of German moors, because moors store a lot of carbon.
We are aware that avoidance is always better than compensation. But compensation is better than doing nothing.
