Keep a cool head: facts and fiction is building Europe's largest ice house. And that six times. The conceptually unique and logistically complex roadshow demonstrates the transparency of ING-DiBa and inspires more than 142,000 visitors in six cities.
The ING-DiBa wants to communicate its customer-oriented transparency more clearly than before. To create something unique is the claim of the bank and the mission of facts and fiction.
Since creating something unusual is a habit we have become passionate about, we design the largest ice house in Europe - deep-frozen transparency, so to speak. On 100 sqm of living space, it accommodates everything that can be found in any normal temperature house. 1,000 blocks of cloudy ice and clear ice are joined together to form a rectangular bungalow. The 50 cm thick walls keep the temperature inside at a constant - 3 °C.
The construction requires the use of absolute ice specialists. The most important thing is to carve the frosty raw material, process it and build it at the same time. In the garden of the house, the company logo carved into an ice wall and illuminated is prominently displayed. The ING DiBa lion also provides the necessary branding on nine ice pylons around the house.
Of course, as many people as possible should be able to admire the ice house. Our solution: a roadshow. Six ice houses of 86 tons each, the tour leads through six German cities. The huge quantities of ice are produced in England and Germany, where 25 ice artists work four weeks per house on over 6,000 individual parts each. In each city, 80 employees work in shifts for approx. 100 hours just to set up the system. The resonance is anything but cool: on the 36 event days, more than 142,000 visitors see the ice houses.
