The football team Borussia Dortmund celebrated its 100th anniversary. facts and fiction took over and developed a gala of grand emotions. In the end it was a game lasting over 150 minutes with almost 12,000 players broadcast live by WDR television station.
It's not raining red roses in Dortmund. When flowers fall from the sky in Dortmund, they are yellow - the band Extrabreit from neighbouring city Hagen gets to the heart of the matter with their birthday serenade. But this is only one of the many highlights of the gala, which facts and fiction is holding on the occasion of Borussia Dortmund's 100th birthday.
A gala of great emotions, because 100 years of BVB mean 100 years of great battles and even greater emotions. But they have to be real feelings, nothing forced. Just like in the stadium, to use the words of BVB idol Adi Preißler: "Decisive is in place". This legendary saying becomes the core of our concept. But how do you bring the stadium feeling into a hall with approx. 12,000 seats distributed over an interior and three tiers? With a spatial staging as consistent as the pressing under Klopp; a dramaturgy similar to the unexpected course of the Champions League final in 1997; and a presentation surprising like a left-hand glue by Lothar Emmerich. At the end there is a 150-minute game with almost 12,000 players.
This is what our course looks like: Starting at the main venue of the central stage, branded with the logo "100 Years BVB", two catwalks run through the entire interior and bring the action directly to the audience - even the staging gets under your skin. A furious dozenfold drum roll at the beginning of the show sets the minds of the fans in motion; the extraordinary enthusiasm of the BVB fans should not only be noticed, but integrated into the action. Said, done: From the great fan friendship between Borussia Dortmund and Celtic Glasgow - symbolized by the joint entry of a Dortmund Marching Band and a Scottish bagpipe group - to the choice of the goal of the century to the grand finale with its brilliant media and light production - 100 former and current BVB players come into the hall via the catwalks - it is an evening like the European Cup and DFB Cup finals all at once.
By the way, not only for the guests and fans on site, but also for the one million spectators of the live broadcast on WDR. And for the juries at the Galaxy Award and the EVA, who reward us with silver and bronze.
